I enjoyed being married

Image
I enjoyed being married. I feel sorry if you're enduring your marriage, even if it is a good marriage.  I believe in the doctrine of right man and right woman . I know others are skeptical of it, but I believe God has a woman for a man.  Only God knows who that person is. Our job therefore is to be the right man or right woman.  We need to prepare into married life long before we wanted to marry. We do that by developing biblical character and training for life skills and educating ourselves. Once married, we need continuing education. We need to study our spouses, discover their likes and dislikes, whatever makes them tick.  We should be lifelong students of our spouses.  We need to pursue them continually.  We need to cultivate our marriage by walking the path the Lord set for married life. Marriage is not an endurance game. It is meant to be enjoyed.  When we do, we'll develop a marriage that is enjoyable.  Manatiling nakapokus sa biyay...

The Scripture vs our opinions

Image
I love discussing ideas. But when it comes to spiritual things, it is always helpful to distinguish human opinions versus the Scripture . However helpful human opinions can be, they must give way where the Scripture speaks.  This is not about being a bibliolater . It is about being convinced that the Scripture is inerrant and infallible , something that cannot be said to humans.  Humans change opinions regularly. The Scripture on the other hand is immutable . And most importantly it is perfect, inerrant and infallible.  Therefore if the Scripture speaks, we need to learn how to listen. We need to put the Bible above our own opinions.  When we preach, we are especially prone to passing our own opinions as Scripture. They are not. We should clearly distinguish what is our own take on a topic and what the Scripture actually says.  The Word of God is our authority in faith and practice, in everything that it touches. However helpful men's books are, they sho...

A text without a context is just a con

That is, instead of studying the Bible in its context, mayroon na silang narrative na gawa na at kukuha na lang ng verses to support their particular views. Most of the time the context is ignored.  This happens when the minister have other sources of authority other than the Bible itself. Aminin sa hindi aminin, this shows a low view of the Bible. A high view of the Bible treat it as inerrant and infallible . Because of this the desire is to understand what it actually means. Hindi mo ito gagamiting tool to justify whatever opinions or eccentricities you advocate.  So instead of quoting passages out of context, study the surrounding verses, even the entire book. This ensures that you understand what is actually being said.  Case in point: Matt 24:13 .

Pull me out

Image
Yung feel mong down na down ka na at tinalikuran ka ng lahat. You hit rock bottom. What now?  Here's the good news, God is the Rock at the bottom. So rather than panic, call to Him, "Pull me out!" He's just waiting for you to cry. Aside from Him, we're nothing. We get our sustenance from Him.
