Maaari bang maging Cristiano ang isang homosexual?
My answer to this question will not please everyone. Some believers will think that I am not Christian enough and unbelievers will think I am heavy handed. I will write my conviction though.
Sagot: Hindi. Once saved, always saved.
Sagot: Hindi! Malinaw sa Kasulatang ang homosexuality is a sin.
Yes God is love but God is also justice and He is our sovereign Creator. Kahit ipagsigawan pa ng sanlibutang okay lang ang homosexuality, truth is truth even if everyone is against it. And the truth is homosexuality is unbiblical and sin.
So what is the issue? The big deal is while a homosexual can be a Christian, a homosexual Christian cannot be a consistent Christian. Ire-reject niya ang opinyon ng Diyos about sexuality and gender. A consistent Christian with a high view of Scripture knows that homosexuality is sin and will confess and repent of that sin. Kung hindi, he'll be living outside the will of God.
Yes he remained a son. Hindi mawawala ang kaligtasan. Hindi maiwawala ang buhay na walang hanggan. He is a son but a disobedient son. And disobedient sons get disciplined.
Who discipline him? God. Not us. Our job is to present Bible doctrine, in this case the doctrine of two sexes.
It is not our job to hate the homosexuals. I have homosexual friends and I will admit, they're funny. They're gay, in every positive sense of that word.
It does not make them right. They are funny but still wrong.
Saying homosexuality is a sin is not weaponizing the faith. It is submitting our thinking into captivity to Christ. Christ's teaching is always right. Our emotions and the world's opinions are not the standard of behavior and thinking for a Christian.
Just because your a son and a grandson of pastors doesn't mean homosexuality is right. Human relationships have no priority over the Word of God. If anything, that only shows that even the family of pastors can be influenced by worldly thinking. This should cause every Bible teaches to pause and reflect: how deep is our own family in the Word?
Relationship to God is not based on prayers, even if you call it grace. You established relationship with God by faith alone in Christ alone. Unfortunately if you embrace homosexuality, even if the relationship is never lost, fellowship is lost. A homosexual Christian cannot live a consistent Christians way of life for he embraced an un-Christian lifestyle. Renaming sin as grace doesn't make it not sin. It shows licentiousness.
You have to choose between faith and identity when it comes to consistent Christian living. Jeremiah says that the heart is wicked and very deceitful. You may think you're good with God but you're deceived. The Bible is the only guide against sin, Ps 119:11, 105. Sin is sin regardless of your opinion about it.
Our identity is Christ, not our gender or sexuality. We cannot walk consistently in Christ if we insist on living our "gender identity."
It is good to live a life that is not after human approval. We need to live for God's approval. And when it comes to sexuality, the Bible is clear that homosexuality is a sin.
Balik tayo sa original na tanong: can a gay person become a Christian? Yes. Period. Can a gay Christian be a consistent Christian? No. Since he is living unbiblically. Period.
