What a tragedy
We will all die except for a certain generation that will undergo Rapture. It is a matter of who dies first.
For many that is tragic. For believers, it is a promotion to glory. It means passing through the gates of time towards an eternity with Jesus.
Yes those left behind will grieve. But never as without hope. Believers have the hope of grand reunion one day when all the dead in Christ will rise first, the living ones translated and both raptured to be with Christ forever.
The real tragedy is dying without believing in Jesus. That will result to an eternity without Him. That is an eternity in the Lake of Fire.
Jesus became a Man for one main purpose - to remove sin as a barrier between God and men. His Incarnation accomplished many purposes - fulfillment of prophecies, revelation of God to men, inauguration of the new covenant, etc- but His death at the Cross as propitiation for our sins is one of the primary, if not the primary purpose. He died so sin will not prevent man from spending eternity with God. The only thing that keeps man away from God depends on this question: What think ye of Christ?
If you believe in Jesus the promise is you have eternal life, John 3:16. Right now. Not tomorrow, not when you die. But right now. The only condition is believe in Jesus. Not joining a religion or doing good works or avoiding sins. These are good things but not the way to have eternal life. The promise is eternal life, not a probation life. It is a life that will last forever and cannot be taken away.
The tragedy is many people pursue so many things in life yet forget to ensure their eternal state. They earn many things but forget to believe in Jesus for eternal life. They traded the eternal for the temporal.
They always think they can believe later. The important thing right now is to become rich. But wealth is only a temporary thing. It cannot buy us eternal life.
Believe in Him before you die, Heb 9:27. There is no post-mortem salvation.
Do not be a tragic victim. Believe in Him while it is still an age of grace. Tomorrow is not promise and you can die without Christ. By then it is too late.
