Our highest priority
What are you living for?
For Christians the highest priority is God's glory and enjoying Him forever. That means developing an intimate relationship with God.
That relationship cannot be earned by works. You cannot establish a relationship with God by working for it. You established relationship with Him by believing in Jesus.
John 1:12-13 [12]But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, [13]who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
The only way to become child of God is by believing in Jesus Christ.
It is not joining a religion or doing hood works until you die.
Once that relationship is established, it is forever. Once a son by faith in Christ, always a son. This is eternal security.
You need to develop the intimacy in that relationship. You grow by studying doctrine and applying them to your life through the mentorship of the Holy Spirit.
2 Peter 3:18 [18]but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
The Word of God is the milk (1 Pet 2:2) that will cause spiritual growth. We let it change our thinking, Romans 12:1-2, until we develop Christ-likeness. This has been God's predetermined plan for Christians, Romans 8:29, to be conformed to the image of the Son.
So if you're not yet a Christian, you're not sure you have eternal life, use this time to believe in Him. He guaranteed eternal life to everyone that believes, John 3:16.
If you're already a believer, use this time to grow deeper into your relationship with God. Study His Word. Apply it. Be filled with the Spirit. Walk by means of Him.
This will give stability to our life. This will maximize our impact. When people sees Christ being formed in us, they'll ask for the hope that is in us.
You don't develop impact by being religious. Any unbeliever can join a local church, go to Bible services every Sunday, and still die without eternal life. So religion is not the answer.
But if you grow in your relationship with God, it'll change your priorities and your behavior. You will leave a mark.
Redeem the time. It is running out.
