Foolish people destroy themselves

Proverbs 1:29-32 [29]Because they hated knowledge And did not choose the fear of the Lord. [30]"They would not accept my counsel, They spurned all my reproof. [31]"So they shall eat of the fruit of their own way And be satiated with their own devices.[32]"For the waywardness of the naive will kill them, And the complacency of fools will destroy them.

Our words and actions have consequences. And if we are talking foolishly and acting foolishly, the consequences can be deadly, sometimes literally.

Sabi nga ng Diyos sa Kaniyang bayang Israel, "My people is being destroyed for lack of knowledge." Unfortunately ang mga Cristiano didn't learn their lessons. We are still talking and acting without knowledge. Then we acted surprised that we're being destroyed.

Nasisira ang health (because of foolish choices), nasisira ang relationships (because of foolish choices) at nasisira ang pamilya (because of foolish choices), then we prayed, "Sana magkaisa at mabuo tayo."

No prayer for unity and wholeness and papalit sa foolishness. Yes God can save us from our foolish decisions. But if you keep on making foolish decisions, don't expect God to tolerate your foolishness. Sometimes the best way to learn is the hard way- learn from the consequences.

When you burn the bridge, don't expect a visit. When you keep on sawing the branch that supports you, you have nowhere to go but down.

Let us start being mindful of our choices. If we consistently make good choices (defined as Biblically informed choices done under the mentorship of the Holy Spirit), we can expect to have blessed results. If we keep on listening to the flesh, that is unbiblical choices, the result is death.

The only good thing is no matter how far away we are from God, the way back is only one step back- 1 John 1:9. Like the father in the parable, He's waiting for His prodigal to return.
