Growing while waiting

Isa sa pinakamahirap gawin ay maghintay. Kaya naiinip tayo sa pila, mas pinipili nating hintayin kaysa maghintay at mahiling tayong mag-shortcut and cut corners. This is true both for our daily life and our spiritual life.

Gusto natin ng crowns ngayon but we don't want the crosses. We like the benefits but not the trials. We like the rewards but not the service. We want what we want now; we don't want to wait.

But what if the reason for waiting is not because He's being mean but He wants you to enjoy the blessings without destroying in the process. What if He's building our character so we'll have the capacity to enjoy and not self-destruct? Or sinira ng sudden fame from being discovered sa social media? Maybe God wants us to enjoy His blessings so He builds capacity in us first.

Maybe the reason for the wait is to set things up. Before you can enjoy the benefits, He has to arrange the best circumstances, put the right people in your life and to set in motion the events that will lead to blessings. In the process, your life is enriched because you meet new people, you grow because you undergo the process and you will be more appreciative because you have seen how things work together for you. Blessings are enjoyed more when you participate in its acquisition.

His timing is different than ours and His priorities are not the same as ours. He works in His own schedule but if we trust Him, we know He's doing everything for our benefits. After all God is the God of all grace.

Trust in His timing. Wait. And grow.
