Expensive living

Some mistakes are expensive. Nothing is more expensive than living a life that is unpleasing to God.

Imagine spending your life only to realize that at the end that life amounts to meaningless.

Ecclesiastes is a record of what living under the sun (living a life separate from God) looks like. You may have all the money that you can earn, have many properties you can purchase and achieve all the honors and titles this world can offer, but if you live it apart from God, you're grasping the wind.

No money, property or honor will replace a growing relationship with God.

And if you keep on ignoring God's principles, you will continue making mistakes.

In the world's eyes you're successful but at night when you sit down to meditate on the day's happening, you're singing,

"She's so lucky, she's a star
But she cry, cry, cries in her lonely heart, thinking
If there's nothing missing in my life
Then why do these tears come at night?"

You climbed the pinnacle of human achievement only to realize that you're alone and lonely and worse, the ladder is pinned on the wrong wall.

How many heartbreaks, broken relationships and unwise decisions would have been avoided if we live God's wisdom. If only we took the time to study God's principles for living and follow that path, rather than our own, maybe we could have truly live life and live it abundantly.

Some of the results of selfish living are simply too expensive to pay- estranged wife, rebellious children, sitting alone in an empty hall... You could have "all things" added to you if only you put God's business first.

It is not too late though. As long as you're alive, it's not too late to come to your senses and return to the Father, "I have sin..." He will welcome you back and undo the meaningless. You might not be able to undo all the consequences (trust needs to be earned back, broken health can't be restored and you cannot regain time lost) but you can start again and this time, those sins and mistakes will be lessons learned.

Remember your Creator in the days of your youth.
