Ang Bagong Ang Biblia
Some complain that I used a very old "Tagalog" (Filipino Bible), and is therefore hard to understand. So I bought a new Filipino Bible, Ang Bagong Ang Biblia (I supposed if AB translates the 1901 ASV, this must be the equivalent of 1966 NASB). I check several pages and while the reading is close to AB, they used less "old" language. So I guess this is a good compromise to those who are not familiar with the older tongue (when's the last time you heard of sinepete and unguento?), but still formal enough not to be a paraphrase (sorry I really dislike MBB). Just as before, this is based on CT. Contrary to beliefs of some, AB and ABAB are not Tagalog KJV or NKJV but Tagalog ASV and NASB.
The old AB will still be my primary Tagalog Bible (I am attached to the older tongue, I am part Bulakeño after all) but use ABAB when preaching. This Bible lacks the Reference and translation footnotes found at my AB though there are some pathetic center cross-rederence notes and translation notes at the bottom.
