ARE YOU HIDING IN YOUR INNER ROOM?

1 Kings 22:24-25

[24]Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near and struck Micaiah on the cheek and said, "How did the Spirit of the Lord pass from me to speak to you?"

[25]Micaiah said, "Behold, you shall see on that day when you enter an inner room to hide yourself."

Zedekiah the false prophet of Asherah have been telling Ahab what he wanted to hear. Micaiah courageously, sarcastically at first, tell Ahaz that he will die in that battle. His fate has been shown to Micaiah, 1 Kings 22:20. Ahab take this to be the usual evil things Micaiah is saying against him. You see Micaiah is a negative thinker, he did not follow the spirit of the times, he is not cooperative. Unlike Micaiah Zedekiah is supportive of Ahab. He narrowly escaped death from Elijah's hands, 1 Kings 18, and he did not intend to receive it from Ahab. So with fanfare he told his boss, "Boss you can do it. I am giving you this gift that will make you successful. With this success is guaranteed!" Micaiah told Ahab, "That is just the lying spirit enticing you to death." And be Zedekiah is like, "What? Since when did the Spirit of the Lord left me to come to you?" See Zedekiah, a practitioner of ecumenical religion is claiming to be the Lord's spokesperson even as he served Asherah. After all, all religions are the same right? He even slapped him, an act of insult, rather than an act intended to knock him out. Micaiah said, "You will know when you hide in an inner room." And hide he will because Ahab will lose this battle and many will be after him, the enemies will be at the gates of Samariah with the death of the mighty Ahab (yes he's bad but he is a good warrior), not to mention people who will remember him sending his king to death with false assurances. 

ARE YOU HIDING IN AN INNER ROOM? Maybe because you are self-sufficient in yourself but then discovered you are no god but man with feet of clay. You think you control people, because you do the right dance, butter up to the right people, and have the horn of strength with you? Vs 11-12. Here is the thing, be sure your sin will find you out. Num 32:23 and nothing hidden that will not be revealed, Matt 10:26. For there is a day of accountability to Him we have to do.
