With Christ in my vessel, I can smile at the storm

I really wish life is easy. No pain, all comfort.

But we know life isn’t. The only question is will it make us stronger or weaker?

Many times I want to skip working out. It is tiring. Many times when I come home, I just want to sit and watch TV. But I look around and see what comfort makes to people- they become weak, they have back pain, knee problems, shoulder impingement, etc. Then I decided that it is worth the trouble of lifting now to avoid the trouble of the future.

The analogy is easy to see. God allowed storms in our lives not to hurt us but to make us stronger. He didn’t promise we’ll be in comfort because He didn’t want weak children. He wanted children who can demonstrate to the world what a privilege it is to be called God’s children.

Adversities are our way of demonstrating that God’s Woed works. It doesn’t matter how great our troubles are, there’s always a solution in His Word. They are like workouts that make our spiritual muscles thicker and stronger.

It all depends on our attitudes. If we accept them with gladness, they develop character. They give us endurance and perseverance.

Of course a wrong lift can damage your muscles and can be even fatal. Similarly, a wrong attitude towards adversities can weaken us. It can make us question our faith in God. It can make us back slide.

A healthy dose of daily doctrine can turn what could be negative attitude towards adversities a positive one.
